ATEX Certification for ARTEC Pneumatic Cylinders

ARTEC Pneumatic reaffirms its commitment to safety and certified quality: our pneumatic cylinders comply with the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU (ATEX Declaration of Conformity)  and are therefore suitable for use in potentially explosive atmospheres with gases or combustible dust.

What is Directive 2014/34/EU?

The European Directive 2014/34/EU, known as ATEX (from the French “ATmosphères EXplosibles”), regulates equipment used in environments with an explosion risk, ensuring maximum safety and prevention of ignition sources. See our ATEX Declaration of Conformity for full compliance details 

ATEX Zones: What does it mean?

ATEX categorizes hazardous areas into zones based on occurrence and duration:

  • Zone 0 / 20: explosive atmosphere present continuously or for long periods

  • Zone 1 / 21: present occasionally

  • Zone 2 / 22: present rarely and briefly

Our cylinders are certified for Zone 1 (gas) and 21 (dust) and Zone 2 (gas) and 22 (dust), suitable for environments where gas or dust is unlikely but possible.

Designed per EN 80079‑36:2016 and available upon request with ATEX marking II 2G Ex h IIB T4 Gb, II 2D Ex h IIIC T120 °C Db, for -20 °C ≤ Ta ≤ 80 °C:
